What happened to Chartable
Chartable was the attribution tool 1.1 million podcasters relied on. It gave podcasters something no other tool did: trackable links that showed where listeners actually came from — Twitter, newsletters, guest appearances, Instagram posts.
Spotify bought Chartable in 2022. In December 2024, they shut it down. 1.1 million podcasters got an email saying "sorry, we're closing." Spotify wanted to push everyone onto Megaphone — their own paid platform. Most podcasters refused.
