Privacy Policy

LeetCast is a podcast attribution platform. We take privacy seriously — not as a compliance checkbox, but as a core design principle. This policy is written in plain language.

What we collect from podcasters (our customers)

• Account information: email address (used for authentication via magic link — no passwords stored)
• Show data: podcast RSS feed URL, show name, episode metadata (fetched from your public RSS feed)
• Usage analytics: product usage via PostHog (pages visited, features used) to improve the product

What we collect from listeners (people who click SmartLinks)

• Truncated IP address: IPv4 addresses truncated to /24 (last octet removed), IPv6 truncated to /48. We never store full IP addresses.
• Device type: derived from user agent (mobile, desktop, tablet — not the full user agent string)
• Referrer: the page that linked to the SmartLink (e.g., twitter.com, a newsletter)
• Timestamp: when the click occurred
• No cookies: we do not set any cookies on listeners. No tracking pixels. No persistent identifiers.

How we use the data

Click data is aggregated and displayed as attribution analytics on the podcaster's dashboard. We show where listeners come from, which platforms they use, and which marketing efforts drive real engagement. We do not sell data to anyone. We do not build listener profiles.

Data retention

• Free tier: click data retained for 30 days
• Solo tier: click data retained for 12 months
• Pro and Network tiers: click data retained indefinitely while the subscription is active

When a subscription ends, data retention reverts to the Free tier policy (30 days).

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are a LeetCast customer, you have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Rectification: correct inaccurate data
• Erasure: request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Portability: export your data in a machine-readable format (CSV)
• Objection: object to specific processing activities

We process data under legitimate interest (providing the service you signed up for).

Third parties

We use the following services to operate LeetCast:

• Lemon Squeezy — billing and subscription management (privacy policy)
• Resend — transactional email delivery (privacy policy)
• Sentry — error tracking and performance monitoring (privacy policy)
• PostHog — product analytics (privacy policy)
